SomnaX ("we", "us", "our") is the developer and publisher of the SomnaX mobile application available on the Apple App Store. For privacy-related questions, contact us at: privacy@somnax.app
SomnaX uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. When you sign in, we receive and store:
To personalize your breathing sessions and the AI companion, we optionally collect:
These preferences are stored on your device (via UserDefaults). Of the items listed above, only your name, age range, and gender are synced to our backend database and linked to your account. The remaining preferences (stress frequency, bedtime difficulty, session length, relaxation method, preferred bedtime, primary wellness need, type of stress or tension) stay on your device and are only transiently attached to AI-chat context requests — see Section 2.4. These preferences are used exclusively to personalize your experience and are never used for advertising targeting.
SomnaX tracks your usage locally to provide streak counts, insights, and adaptive recommendations:
This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Conversations you have with the SomnaX AI companion are stored locally on your device. Chat history is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption, with the encryption key stored in your device's Keychain. A maximum of 20 conversation threads are retained; older threads are deleted automatically.
When you send a message, the following data is transmitted via our Supabase Edge Function to OpenAI, the third-party AI service that generates the reply. The request is sent only after you grant in-app consent on the first use of the chat:
Chat messages are processed to generate a response and are not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the request.
If you use the microphone button in the AI chat, the app requests permission to access your device microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition. Voice input is converted to text using Apple's Speech framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). The resulting text is handled in the same way as typed messages (see Section 2.4). We do not record or store raw audio.
With your permission, we send local push notifications to:
Notification data is processed entirely on your device and does not involve transmitting any information to our servers.
Free-tier users may see interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. To opt out of personalized ads, you can use the settings in your device's Privacy & Security section (Limit Ad Tracking / Allow Apps to Request to Track). Premium subscribers do not see ads.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your wellness or chat data for advertising.
Most data (session history, chat history, preferences) is stored locally on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Your Apple User ID, optional name, optional age range, optional gender, and last-seen timestamp are stored in our Supabase database. This data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated backend data at any time from the Profile screen in the app.
When you delete your account via the app, we send a deletion request to our backend, which permanently removes your user record and associated profile data. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (if any) may be retained.
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
SomnaX is a general wellness application and is not directed to children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 beyond what is required for the Sign in with Apple flow. Apple's Sign in with Apple does not provide an email or name for users who are under 13 in jurisdictions where COPPA applies.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at privacy@somnax.app and we will promptly delete that information.
Minors should use the app with parent or guardian awareness where required.
SomnaX provides breathing exercises and an AI wellness companion as general well-being tools. The app is not a medical device, is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Wellness data you share (e.g., stress frequency and bedtime difficulty) is used solely to personalize in-app content and is not shared with healthcare providers or insurers.
The app includes a Sources & Safety section with links to recognized public health sources that inform the general breathing, relaxation, and sleep-hygiene concepts used in SomnaX.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Supabase servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using SomnaX, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
